About the ACA Council on Nutrition

HISTORY

The Council was founded in 1974 and held its first formal meeting in July of that year. Dr. Warren P. Brown served as the Council’s first President. Since its initiation, the Council has shown a rapid and continuing growth in membership and is now one of the largest specialty councils of the ACA.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The Council recognizes the importance of nutrition as an adjunct in the practice of chiropractic. It has set as its primary goal, the continuing education of the chiropractic physician as it relates to clinical nutrition.

The Council has instituted a series of on-going programs, which include:
A. Annual Symposiums - These are held with speakers of national and international reputation.
B. Regional Seminars - These are provided in concert with our CCE accredited colleges and usually supported by a Grant from our industry.

These Seminars help provide the opportunity, etc., for the chiropractic college student and practitioner alike to have dialogue with our speakers with national standing in the field of clinical nutrition.

C. Nutritional Perspectives - The Journal of the Council on Nutrition is published quarterly by the Council. Correspondence should be directed to: 6855 Browntown Road, Front Royal, VA 22630.
